HOPE FOR THE CHURCH
There is hope for the Church
in these trouble-filled days.
There is hope, since the One
in whose name the Church prays
is still Lord of the Church
and the Church cannot fail,
for he said that the gates
of hell shall not prevail.
There is hope for the Church
in this world of great need.
There is hope for the Church
that will follow the lead
of the Suffering Servant
whose good news the Church bears.
And there's hope for the world,
if the Church really cares!
(from Enough, Already! and Other Church Rhymes)
